FRANK SABATINO TOURNAMENT CHAIR SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
OVERVIEW:
The Frank
Sabatino Tournament Chair Sportsmanship Award is a tournament award that
recognizes a player that throughout the tournament, best exemplifies the
principles of fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship.
CRITERIA:
In order
to be considered for the award, players must meet the following criteria
throughout the tournament:

Show
respect for officials, coaches, fans and other players

Encourage
teammates to demonstrate positive on- ice behaviour
-
Be seen
as a positive influence
-
Cooperate
with teammates, coaches, opponents and officials to create a positive game
environment
-
Display a
strong work ethic
SELECTION
PROCESS:
The Head
Coach from each team participating in the tournament will be asked to nominate,
in advance of the tournament start date, ONE player from his/her team that meets
the criteria listed above and provide a written submission identifying the
qualities of the selected player.
For the
duration of the tournament, tournament officials will watch identified
candidates during their assigned games to assess how well the player exemplifies
the desired characteristics.
At the end of
the three games, ONE player will be selected by the tournament officials as the
recipient of the Frank Sabatino Tournament Chair Sportsmanship Award.
The award
will be presented at the Championship game, if possible.

THAT ONLY PLAYERS NOMINATED BY THEIR COACHES ARE ELIGIBLE. ONE THIRD OF THE
ASSESSMENT IS BASED ON THE WRITTEN SUBMISSION OF THE COACHING STAFF.
